Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an LED driver or an emergency inverter?

The Bodine BTB15D is an emergency inverter. It works in conjunction with your existing dimmable Type B TLED lamps (which have internal drivers). When normal AC power fails, the BTB15D steps in to provide backup power to keep the LEDs illuminated for emergency egress.

What is a Type B TLED?

A Type B TLED is a tubular LED lamp that features an internal driver and is wired directly to the main line voltage (bypassing the traditional fluorescent ballast). The BTB15D is specifically designed to safely back up these types of direct-wire LED tubes.

Can this inverter be mounted away from the fixture?

Yes, the BTB15D can be installed either in close proximity to the fixture or mounted remotely. The maximum allowed remote mounting distance is 250 feet.
